# 7. Common input

> Slash command, inline toolbar, keyboard-first workflow

In Pensiv, input is designed around\
**what state of mind you’re in**,\
not “where” you’re typing.

The same action can be reached in **three ways**:\
slash, selection, or keyboard.\
You choose whichever fits your rhythm.

Pensiv does not have\
one fixed way to input.

* [7.2 Inline toolbar (text selection)](/en/guide/common-input/inline-toolbar)
* [7.3 Keyboard-first workflow](/en/guide/common-input/keyboard)

***

There is no single “right” way to input in Pensiv.\
Whether you’re deciding structure, polishing what you wrote,\
or keeping flow —\
**pick the method that matches how you’re thinking right now**.\
That’s the most natural way to use Pensiv.
