The command palette
is a global command window you open with Ctrl + K.
The flow is simple:
Open → Type → Run

1. Open the command palette

Command palette open
  • Shortcut: Ctrl + K
  • Works from any screen
  • Esc or click outside to close
You can start a new action
without leaving your current context.

2. Type what you want to do

It looks like a search box,
but you’re not “finding where a feature lives.”
Type the action or file name you want.
Examples:
  • go / navigate
  • notes
  • graph
  • settings
  • part of a file name
You don’t need the exact command.
Related options appear as you type.

3. Run

  • Use arrow keys to pick an item
  • Press Enter to run
  • Esc to cancel
From typing to running —
all with the keyboard.

Summary

The command palette
is not for exploring menus.
You type the action
and run it.
You don’t have to remember the layout —
you run the task directly.
