The command palette
is a global command window you open with Ctrl + K.
From anywhere in Pensiv
you can handle navigation, actions, and file management in one place.

How to open it

  • Press Ctrl + K
  • The command input appears in the center of the screen
  • Type the command or file name you want
  • Press Enter to run
  • Press Esc to close
You don’t need to hunt through menus —
you type and run.

What can you do?

From the command palette you can:
  • Go to work home
  • Go to Tasks
  • Go to Notes
  • Open Graph view

System / settings

  • Search
  • Toggle dark mode
  • Change system theme
  • Open Settings
  • Open log folder

File actions

  • Move…
  • Duplicate
  • Move to trash
  • Set label
  • Set status
  • Open AI review
  • Open note
  • Open spell check
Available commands change by context
depending on the current file.

How it works

The command palette
doesn’t separate “search” and “run.”
  • Type a command → related options appear
  • Type a file name → that file shows up
  • Press Enter → it runs
You type what you want to do first,
then the UI follows.

When is it useful?

  • When you want to jump to a specific screen
  • When you need to move, duplicate, or delete a file
  • When you want to open settings or system features quickly
  • When you want to keep flow without using the mouse
The more you use Pensiv,
the more you’ll use the command palette instead of the sidebar.

Summary

Ctrl + K
is the shortcut for Pensiv’s central command window.
Instead of navigating the UI,
you type the action and run it.
