Skip to main content
Now you get to the core of Pensiv. You don’t stop at “writing” the document;
you put it on the structure.

① Open a plotboard

In the left sidebar:
Plot → New plotboard
The screen shows:
  • Plotboard title
  • Card area
  • “New part card” button
This isn’t a writing space;
it’s where you place the story.
When the plotboard is open,
add content to the cards.
Keep card titles short.
Examples:
  • Opening scene
  • First conflict
  • Story start

② Create scene units inside cards

As in the example:
  • Parent card: Story start
  • Inside it: New part card
Structure:
Story start
└── New part card
Important:
A part card is not “text”;
it’s a unit of the story.

③ Connect a document to a card

This is the main step. Click a part card. Inside you’ll see:
  • Title
  • Tags
  • Mentions
  • Add mention
Click Add mention. → Search for and select the document you created.
→ The document is linked to the card.

What the connection changes

Before:
  • Document is a standalone file
  • Plotboard is empty structure
After:
  • The document becomes “the content of this scene”
  • The plot is “where that document sits”
So
The text is placed inside the structure.
That’s the shift Pensiv is built for.
