Now create a real document. In the left sidebar, open the Documents section and
click New document.
When the document opens,
you’ll see a title area at the top
and an empty body below.
This step isn’t about learning every feature.
It’s about writing one line.

1. Enter a title

The title can be temporary. Examples:
  • First scene
  • Idea memo
  • Start
You can change the title anytime.

2. Write one sentence in the body

Add a single sentence in the body. Example:
Where does this story begin?
It doesn’t need to be polished.
It doesn’t need to be finished.
You don’t need to worry about structure yet.
In Pensiv, a document is
not a place for a finished result
but a place where thinking starts.

Why is it okay to write “anything”?

In Pensiv, sentences don’t stay isolated. What you write now can later:
  • Connect to a plotboard
  • Connect to character sheets
  • Turn into tasks
So a first draft isn’t throwaway notes;
it’s a unit that can grow into structure.
What matters at this step
isn’t writing well
but starting.

If you’ve done this much

  • You created a document
  • You added a title
  • You wrote one sentence
That’s enough. Next you’ll
place this document in the structure.
