The plotboard is connection-focused
The plotboard isthe most connection-friendly space in Pensiv. Each part card is not just a scene summary;
it’s a connection point that ties everything relevant to that scene. The plotboard’s purpose is not to store files.
It’s to show what role each file plays in the story.
What you can connect to a part card
You can link many kinds of files to one part card. Those links are not just a collection of info;they create structural context.
① Documents
- The scene’s manuscript
- Drafts, revisions
- Scene text
structure (plotboard) and narrative (document) stay in sync. You can jump from the card to the document
and edit with the scene’s position and role in mind.
② Sheets
- Character
- Place
- Item
- Event
which setting is in play in that scene. For example:
- Who appears
- What space it is
- What concept is central
A scene is no longer just text;
it becomes a structural unit where setting and relations are visible.
③ Other files
Part cards can also link to:- Canvas (relationship or emotion maps)
- Notes (idea memos)
- Other plotboards
it’s where other file types meet.
④ Tags and metadata
You can add tags to part cards. Examples:- Intro
- Transition
- Climax
- Callback
Same card shape, different role by tag.
Tags turn a scene into
structure + metadata.
What connections mean on the plotboard
The plotboard is not a storage area. One card can show:- Scene summary
- Linked document
- Characters
- Related setting
- Scene function
The plotboard is
not where you store files;
it’s where each file’s role is visible.
Summary
When you connect files to part cards,the plotboard is no longer just a structure diagram.
- The scene is the center
- Related information is grouped
- Context is kept as you move
the story doesn’t scatter. The plotboard is
where structure and connection meet.
