The inline toolbar
lets you adjust formatting of text you’ve already written.
Write first,
then select the part you need
and change structure or emphasis.

How it appears

  1. Select text in the document (drag to select)
  2. The inline toolbar appears above the selection
  3. Choose the format or block type you want
You can edit right after selecting,
without opening another menu.

What you can do

From the inline toolbar you can:

Change formatting

  • Bold
  • Italic
  • Underline
  • Strikethrough
  • Text color / background color

When to use it

  • After drafting, when you want to add emphasis
  • When you want to visually separate a word or phrase
  • When you need to check word meaning
The inline toolbar
is for adjusting how things look,
not for changing content.

Slash vs. inline toolbar

  • Slash command → insert blocks, choose structure
  • Inline toolbar → change how selected text looks
Slash = structure.
Inline toolbar = emphasis.
