The editor toolbar is the tool area for editing the document body.
In Pensiv, writing, organizing, and structuring all happen through this toolbar.
The editor toolbar is
for editing and writing the document,
not for managing it.

Role of the editor toolbar

The editor toolbar focuses on:
  • Adjusting the shape of paragraphs and sentences
  • Distinguishing meaning with text formatting
  • Organizing information into lists, tables, and structure
  • Keeping the writing flow fast
Document state, relationships, and metadata are handled in the header;
the editor toolbar is only for text and structure.

Editor toolbar and shortcuts

Most toolbar actions have keyboard shortcuts.
  • Fewer repetitive edits
  • Unbroken writing flow
  • Speed from thought → input → structure
Pensiv’s editor is
optimized for keyboard flow over the mouse.

Inline editor toolbar (when text is selected)

When you select text,
an inline toolbar appears over the selection.
From that toolbar you can quickly:
  • Bold / italic / strikethrough
  • Highlight
  • Change text color
  • Run spell check
with minimal mouse movement.
The inline toolbar is
for editing only what you selected, right now.

Editor toolbar customization

The editor toolbar is not fixed.
You can configure it via the toolbar settings at the top right.
