Hanja search finds Hanja (Chinese characters) that match the Hangul you type and helps you use the right character in context. Useful when you need to disambiguate words that share the same reading.

How do I open it?

Open the Hanja search window from the toolbar or with F9. Hanja search window A window opens with a prompt like:
Enter the Hangul text to convert to Hanja…

How to use it

1. Enter Hangul

Type the word you want to convert. Hangul input example Examples: 복숭아, 검사, 사전

2. Check the candidate list

A list of Hanja candidates for that reading appears below. Examples: 伏虎拳, 搜索, 辭典 / 事前 Same reading can have different meanings; the list shows the right character for the meaning you want.

3. Apply your choice

Click the Hanja you want; it’s applied in the document. You choose the meaning that fits the context.

When to use it

Hanja search helps when:
