Spell check finds typos and spelling mistakes in your draft. It doesn’t change sentence structure; it helps clean up basic language errors first.

How do I run it?

Click the spell check button in the document header. The suggestions panel opens on the right. Checking runs on the whole document.

What you see

When you run spell check, the right panel shows:

1. List of suggestions

  • Incorrect form
  • Suggested replacement
You can act on each item separately. Examples:
  • “its” → “it’s”
  • “teh” → “the”

2. Apply one by one

Click a suggestion to apply it in the document. You choose what to change.

3. Apply all

Use the Apply all button to fix that type of error in one go. Useful for repeated spacing or spelling issues.

4. Save changes

When you’re done, click Save changes so they’re stored. Until you save, changes are not final.

When to use it

Spell check is most useful:
  • Right after the first full draft
  • Before running AI review
  • In the final pass before submission
Fixing basic errors first makes later revision easier.

How to use it

  • In early drafts, prefer applying suggestions one by one.
  • Right before submission, “Apply all” can speed things up.
  • Combine with word replace to keep wording consistent.

What to watch

Spell check follows standard spelling and spacing.
  • Deliberate colloquial style
  • Character-specific speech
  • Dialect
are worth checking before you accept a change.
