How to check what the agent has remembered during a conversation, turn it off for a while, edit it, and delete it beyond recovery.
For the agent to stop repeating the same explanation in every conversation, it has to remember. Say something once — “the protagonist’s name is written this way”, “keep the dialogue clipped” — and the agent writes it down and brings it along in the next conversation.
Memories are made by the agent on its own during a chat. There is no button in the settings screen to add one directly. When the agent remembers something, a single line reading Memory saved is attached below the reply. If it applies only to the current project, it comes up as Memory saved for this project. Seeing that line means what you just said carries over to the next conversation.
Open Agent in settings and scroll down to the Memory item, and everything remembered so far is gathered there. The list is split into two groups, Across all projects and This project. If a group has no entries at all, its heading does not appear. If nothing has accumulated yet, you see only the notice starting with “No memories yet”.
Flip the switch at the right of a row down and it goes to sleep instead of being deleted. A row that is off is struck through, and the agent does not consult its contents. This is what you use when old settings hold you back in a revision that overhauled them.Press Edit and you can fix the sentence right there. It takes up to 2,000 characters. Press Save and it is applied; Cancel backs you out.
Press Delete and it asks once, Delete this memory? The confirmation dialog reads “The agent will no longer remember this. This can’t be undone.” Press Delete and it drops out of the list and a Memory deleted notice appears. There is no way to bring it back. If you are not sure whether you will want it again later, turn it off with the switch before deleting it.
